Audacity Book Club: November Read

Welcome back, audacious readers!
As we move from Halloween to Thanksgiving, get ready to dive into more family drama. Last month, we watched helplessly from the side with the Nigerian thriller, My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. This month, we’re exploring life, love, and acceptance with How Moon Fuentez Fell in Love with the Universe by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland.
From looks to attitude to religion, Moon Fuentez couldn’t be any more different from her twin sister, Star. Moon is used to being the outcast in every aspect of her life and, as Star rises to influencer fame, she is resigned to the supporting role as her camerawoman. She further accepts the idea of being the unwanted sister when she becomes the merch girl on an influencer summer tour, featuring her sister, of course. But while the world is used to ignoring Moon, Santiago Phillips doesn’t get the memo.
Grumpy and undeniably handsome, Santiago quickly becomes her enemies but as the summer drags on, the two find themselves pulled together time and time again as though by destiny. As they spend more time togethe, Moon can’t help but look inward and start to wonder who she is outside of her sister’s shadow.
Insightful and hopeful, How Moon Fuentez Fell in Love with the Universe is all about self-discovery and finding your place in the world. This book is available wherever books are sold, in hardcover and paperback, as well as your local library. I hope you enjoy, and I will see you at the end of the month for the full review.
Until then, don’t forget to read audaciously!
